The Night Before Your Wedding: A Simple Routine for Glowing Skin

The night before your wedding isn’t the time for anything dramatic — it’s the time for calm, simple habits that let your skin (and your nervous system) settle before the big day. Here’s what I recommend to every bride.

Cleanse, Hydrate, Rest

Cleanse gently, twice. A double cleanse — first to remove makeup, sunscreen or product buildup, then a gentle cleanser to actually clean the skin — leaves your face genuinely clean without over-stripping it.

Skip anything new or intense. This isn’t the night to try a new mask, a strong exfoliant, or any product you haven’t used successfully before. Stick to what you know works for your skin.

Hydrate, don’t overload. A hydrating, gentle mask or a slightly richer moisturizer than usual can help skin look plump the next morning — but avoid anything overly rich that might clog pores overnight.

Small Habits That Make a Big Difference

Elevate your head slightly while sleeping. An extra pillow can help minimize morning puffiness around the eyes, especially if you tend to retain a little water overnight.

Put your phone down earlier than usual. Good sleep is the single biggest factor in how your skin looks the next morning — better than any product. Try to be in bed at a normal hour, even with the excitement of the next day ahead.

Drink water, skip the extra glass of wine. A little celebration is completely fine, but alcohol dehydrates skin and can cause puffiness — save the champagne for the reception, when it truly matters most.

None of this needs to feel like a strict rulebook — it’s really just about giving your skin the calmest, most hydrated conditions possible, so that when I arrive in the morning for your bridal makeup, we’re starting with the best canvas possible.
