The Ultimate Beauty Packing List for a Destination Wedding

Planning a destination wedding adds an extra layer of logistics — including making sure you (and your bridal party) have everything needed to look and feel your best, without relying on finding a specific product once you land. Here’s what I recommend every destination bride pack.

Skincare and Sun Protection

Skincare you already trust. Don’t experiment with new products right before travel — pack your tried-and-true cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. Climate changes can affect skin enough without adding new products into the mix.

A high-SPF sunscreen, even for indoor events. Destination weddings usually mean more sun exposure than usual, whether it’s a welcome dinner by the pool or photos on the beach. A broad-spectrum SPF is essential, even on cloudy days.

Lip balm with SPF. Lips are often forgotten in sun protection routines, and they burn just as easily — especially somewhere tropical.

Touch-Up Kit and Travel Essentials

A small emergency kit for touch-ups. Blotting papers, a travel-size setting spray, a neutral lip color, and bobby pins that match your hair color. Keep this in your day-of bag, not checked luggage.

Any hair accessories or veil, packed in your carry-on. These are irreplaceable and often delicate — never risk them in checked baggage where they could be crushed or lost.

A printed (or downloaded) copy of your trial notes and inspiration photos. If your artist is traveling separately or meeting you on location, having a clear reference ensures nothing gets lost between the trial and the wedding day.

Electrolyte packets or hydration tablets. Heat and travel dehydrate skin fast. Staying hydrated in the days leading up to the wedding will show in how your skin looks and how your makeup wears on the day itself.

A little preparation goes a long way toward feeling calm and put-together once you land — leaving you free to actually enjoy the location you chose for your celebration.
